Strip Cocktail Pattern GE-126

I’ve been sewing for years and this pattern finally got me to use my brights stash—the strip piecing method is so clever and efficient. The refreshed instructions are clear enough that I didn’t get stuck once, and the finished top has that classic Gudrun Erla energy without being dated.

I love how the updated instructions finally clear up the layout for the smaller size options. The strip piecing method saved me so much time compared to traditional block assembly. Finished my top in one weekend.

I was a little nervous about cutting into my nicer fabrics, but the Strip Cocktail pattern's clear layout made it surprisingly easy. The finished blocks really pop and show off each print beautifully—perfect for using up scraps.
