The ombré stripes have such a soft, painterly fade that it’s hard to believe they’re fabric rather than paper—I keep holding them up to the light. Stitching through the washy layers was a breeze too, and the ink-splatter bits add just the right amount of edge to a quilt I’m piecing.

The ink-splatter motif on this fabric looks like actual paint bleeding across the surface, not just a printed pattern. I've already used it for a quilt backing and the watercolor effect softens the whole project.

The ombré stripes fade so gradually there's no hard line where one color stops, which is exactly what I wanted for a quilt border. Washed it once before cutting and the bleeding effect stayed soft instead of muddying together.
