Surface Design Black 8278-99

The black is a true, deep black with a smooth hand that feels premium without being stiff. I ordered a yard for a quilt backing and the cut was clean and square, exactly as described. It presses beautifully and holds its shape well.

The fabric has a nice, subtle sheen that catches the light without being too shiny, and the black is rich and even. I used it for a quilt backing and it sewed up smoothly with almost no fraying. For a solid black yardage, this is exactly what I was hoping for.

The fabric arrived slightly stiffer than I expected for quilting, but it pressed out nicely with a hot iron. The pattern scale is perfect for adding a bold geometric element to a modern quilt.
